#430 | 2000 students march in Athens against education reform and in solidarity with the British students; clashes with police, five students arrested

Just came back from the demo – a more detailed report will follow later.

The demonstrators tried to approach the British Embassy in solidarity with the struggle of the students in the UK. There were clashes with riot police and five students were arrested.  Short video from the clashes:

(At 00.15” a riot police man is clearly seen hitting a protester with a fire extinguisher)

In response to the arrests, the entire demonstration headed to the police headquarters (GADA) demanding their immediate release.

More info, soon.

Solidarity most welcome from Greece to the UK, as the student movement here has less of a tradition of revolt than our neighbours in Greece, France,Germany and Italy! Strike. Occupy. Resist. Sabotage. Attack!

All I can see is a bunch of silly yobs attacking the police and then… they talk about police violence and brutality!!! So what did they expect after attacking the policemen with flags and other stuff? Did they expect hugs??? They simply got what they deserved. They should be thrown in a jail and let them rot there forever. Poor kids that have never be loved… go get some jobs idiots.
