(Update, 15.50 local time)
The workers, who’s larour agreement ends today and the state has announced that they will not renew them, have occupied since this morning the building of the National Radio and Television (ERT) in Agia Paraskevi, Athens. All programs have been cancelled and the permanent staff is not allowed to enter the building. We are talking about 1047 workers that will be unemployed from tomorrow, if nothing changes.
The administration initially told the occupiers that they support the struggle of the workers, and agreed with a syndicalist, to end the occupation, with the promise that they will publish an announcement in support and will try to rehire some of them with the legal procedures. When the syndicalist told the rest of the workers this decision, they diasagreed and the occupation continues. An assembly is taking place at this time, while the administration gave an ultimatum to the occupiers to end the occupation by 16.00 local time (GMT+2).

from what corporation are the workers? are they from the ERT?
how many workers are occupying the building?
The National Radio and Television (ERT) except for the permanent staf, has many workers under the unbearable temporary labour agreements, which are renewed every few months.
This time the state is not going to renew the contracts, which means that the workers will be fired.
The workers were occupying (=blockading) the enterances of the building. At 19.00 pm local time they left and ended the occupation. They will hold an assembly tomorrow.
The initial report must be corrected, as tomorrow the contract of some (not all) of the workers will end. The rest will loose their job in the next weeks.
It’s a shame they didn’t occupy and start broadcasting as a Workers Assembly Channel…
Today, 1st of July, riot police units were around the building of the national radio and television, and only the permanent staff was allowed to enter the building.
