#320 | Syndicalists occupy the Public Power Corporation’s headquarters ahead of tomorrow’s general strike

The headquarters of DEI (PPC, the Public Power Corporation) have been occupied by syndicalists working for the corporation. The building is now covered in banners and the workers are organising discussions on the crisis inside. The building will keep occupied until tomorrow, day of the general strike, when a demonstration toward the finance ministry is planned.

For those of you in Athens: buses in the city will be in full operation (8am-8pm) in order to transfer people who might want to participate to the general strike demonstration. The metro will be in operation from 10am until 4pm.

The fatuous “General Strike” in Italy on the 25th produced nothing positve except perhaps this:

“Mayors from around Italy placed hangman’s nooses around their necks at a Rome demonstration this week, saying the cuts would deny assistance to children, the elderly and disabled.”

That’s the spirit! All that was lacking was the integrity to actually hang themselves from the nearest lamp post…The Petty Bourgeois cowards couldn’t see that there self-sacrifice would make a good dent in italy’s national debt…Empty gestures eh?
