On Tuesday evening, a 26-year old student was arrested for his alleged participation to the “conspiracy of the cells of fire”, marking the 16th arrest for this case. The student had appeared at his local police station in Zografou, Athens, to fulfill his bail conditions, having being arrested at the demonstrations during the European Social Forum in Athens (in 2006 – and still awaiting trial…) Apparently, the fingerprints of the 26-year old were in mobile objects in the house raided in Chalandri, Athens in September 2009. His fingerprints were verified, the police want us to believe, a whole four months later and his arrest warrant was issued on December 31. He will appear before the public interrogator tomorrow (Thursday).

Seems like they’ll arrest the entire Greek population and still have bombs going off. Good luck comrade.
his case has been adjourned for tomorrow. The cops are already “leaking” to their friendly media that the 26-year old has nothing to do with the Cells of Fire. So much for their robust evidence and immaculate legal procedures….
Until tomorrow.
since when has the state needed evidence?
Antonia Legaki, the lawyer of the 26-year old student, stated today that the only clue that the police has is a fingerprint on a computer in the house raided in Chalandri. This is enough for the greek police to charge someone for participation in a terrorist group, to threat a young man with years in prison and to publish his name to some media. The student has already said that he had visited 3 years ago the house of his friends to help them install the pc. Moreover, they accuse him for the bombs placed at the house of Panagiotis Chinofotis (minister of internal affairs at the time the 15-year old boy was killed by the cops in Exarchia last december) in July, and at the house of Louka Katseli (current minister of economy) on 23th September. The student was during these days away from Athens working. Even more characteristic is the fact that on 23rd of September he was working at Trikala (away from Athens), preparing the electronic equipment for the pre-election gathering of the (now ruling) Socialist Party!!!
the show of the “anti”terrorist agency to be continued tomorrow…
Anarchists have called everybody to be present at the court on Friday at 11:00 for solidarity.
not court… it’s the public interrogators office. Loukareos & Alexandras Ave.
The 26 year old man has been set free with restricting measures (can’t exit the country and has to appear twice a month to the local police station).
