#117 | Ex-minister of education house in Athens and Spanish consulate in Thessaloniki targeted overnight

An improvised device explosion took place at 4:32 on Friday morning at the entrance of the apartment of Conservative MP and former minister of education, Marietta Giannakou. Information coming in speaks of the explosive device being placed in a skillet (a tactic often employed by the conspiracy of cells of fire).

The explosion were preceded by two warning calls to mainstream media, without any group claiming responsibility as of yet. The building is located in the area of Patissia, central Athens. The explosion caused material damage to the entrance of the building and parked cars. The site remains blocked.

In the Northern city of Thessaloniki, the spanish consulate (located in the centre) was attacked with gas devices at dawn. No group has claimed responsibility for this attack, either.

These attacks come only a few days after the armed attack against the police station of Ayia Paraskeui, in Athens.

Attack at spanish consulate claimed by a group. They attacked it in solidarity with anarchist fighter Amadeu Casellas.
