Hundreds (literally) of cops flooded the neighborhood of Exarcheia of Athens on Thursday night, in what seemed like an attempt to show they were still in control despite the solidarity action that had taken place earlier in the day. The cops raided cafes and bars indiscriminately, detaining tens of people and taking them to the police headquarters on Alexandras Avenue. Corporate media report up to 50 detentions in total.

POLICE OCCUPATION OF EXARCHEIA CONTINUES
For a second day in a row, hundreds of cops are in the neighborhood, stopping and searching anyone who might look “suspicious” to them. Media report more than 80 people arrested so far.
any idea if anything happening or being planned in response?
At 5 pm today there is a call for a demonstration in Exarchia square by residents and by the assembly of the selforganized park of exarchia.
Meanwhile, the occupation of Exarchia district by cops continues for third day.
the best way to resist this police oppression is to get on the media and tell people stories of people who have been randomly arrested who are upstanding citizens, and use the media to denounce the police actions and demand the release of all those arrested during the raids on the neighborhood.
the media is the best weapon against authoritarian leftists because they like to have secret plans and actions that are not in agreement with what they say they stand for but help them stay in power. fuck PASOK.
