Mainstream media reports have revealed that the U.S. Navy is attempting to ship 325 20-foot containers of ammunition (over 3000 tons) from the private greek port of Astakos to Israel, in an emergency shipment of arms to aid the occupation in its ongoing war crimes against the Palestinian people in Gaza. Information as for when this shipment will be attempted is conflicting; possible dates are the 15th, 25th and 31st of January.
Yesterday (10.01), the Popular front for the Liberation of Palestine called upon “the Greek movement, the Greek people and all international progressive forces to halt the planned shipment of U.S. arms to Israel from the Greek port of Astakos” (read the full callout here). One day later, groups and individuals have already responded and are organising for a national mobilisation/blockade of the port of Astakos: the anti-authoritarian movement, the anti-war internationalist movement and Astakos’ local assembly of groups and individuals have already issued statements calling for a gathering at the port of Astakos on Thursday, 15.1, at 1pm.

great news,a sucesfull blockade could be really great act of solidarity.
Great stuff, hopefully you can convince the workers on the docks to refuse to assist with the loading and departure of any ships with war materials.
It doesn’t matter for whom the guns are. Guns kill ppl. So trying to stop the gun shipment is a good thing.
…And a great statement if it works out. It would link the whole Greek-insurrection thing with this anti-Gazawar protests, which are global and huge. I’m sure it would inspire others to do the same thing (we have an american base that’s being assaulted yearly, and an gunfactory in Belgium, and I’m sure protests would turn in that direction if that were to happen)
Also in Brighton, Smash EDO Campaign have been inspiring many acts of sabatoge on the EDO/ITT arms factory that supply parts to Israeli Army.
Dock workers around the world have often refused to carry out loading ships with weapons.
I just want to say how important I think this whole thing is. It’s all about doing the right thing, about respect and about understanding. Everyone should be doing it everywhere, regardless of the situation that their countries are currently going through – there’s no wrong time to fight for the right thing.
If someone can get some information from which ports the cargo will go to Israel, let he paste the names of the ports here.We have one big port here in Slovenija and we are in NATO so,…….
Let us know if our port will be in a list
